Day 9: Wednesday, April 6th Update

Today was a quiet & uneventful day for Henry, which is a good thing.

Henry listening to the soothing sounds of his Sleep Sheep from Grammy & Poppy
He is still on the CPAP allowing time for the inflammation in his throat to go down. The Dr said he may be able to be downgraded to the nasal cannula tomorrow.

His feedings are now up to 44cc's and he will probably be off TPN & lipids by tonight or tomorrow. Once he's off TPN, they'll probably pull his PICC line because the only meds he'll be on are Morphine & Versed. One less tube!

His sweet glowing toes from the monitor that measures the amount of oxygen saturation in his blood.

Today they turned off his cozy lil heating lamp & so now he's swaddled up real tight.

We asked what we could expect from here on out & the Dr said after his breathing has stabilized we will work on more mundane things like weaning completely off of meds and feedings. Hopefully he'll be able to learn to breastfeed without any problems. He did say we should expect to be here at least another week. After such rapid progress the last few days, Trey & I were kind of disappointed to hear that, but hopefully this next week will be more of a fun one if we get to hold him and feed him. We want to be sure he's healthy when he comes home!

Some of my work friends came to see us today.  I miss these girls so much and it made me so happy to see their faces.  Thanks for the support, the prayers, and for the visit!  I love you ALL!
