We are hoping to maintain his "Kinda Dreamy" state for the next couple of days.
They have stopped the dopamine (Blood pressure medicine) and are going to monitor his blood pressure and urination over the next couple of hours.
Antibiotics will continue for two to three days forward to ensure no infection. Signs still point towards there never being an infection, but the 5 day blood cultures are still pending. The 1st 2 came back negative.
Glucose levels look good and like many other things, they hope to keep them there.
The biggest thing they are backing off of today is Nitric Oxide and here is the plan.
Current level of Nitric Oxide :14
Goal level in 6 hours: 10
Goal level in 12 hours: 5
Goal level in 18 hours: 4
Goal level in 24 hours: 3
Goal level in 30 hours: TDB
If the GAS blood tests show that he is not tolerating this well, they can immediately go back to 20
without a problem and reevaluate from there.
Simultaneously they are going to reduce the oxygen level support on the ventilator, currently at 60%, but are somewhat hesitant to try to adjust too many variables at one time. Picture of Henry's long toes. We saw them on earlier sonograms posted in this blog a few months ago. The nurses made a sign for Henry and he loves it!
Link to Video of Henry this morning Brent, Tracy, and MacKenzie Baldwin came up to the lounge to hang out with Charlie on their way to the Zoo across the street. It was nice to visit with them for awhile. We will likely take Charlie to ride the train around Hermann park later on this afternoon. Becki's cousins Abbey & Matt Durham in Long Island, NY along with cousins Sarah & Jason Woolery and Aunt Cherry & Uncle Lanny in Amarillo sent some Jason's Deli to the lounge for lunch. Thanks Marshalls/Durhams/Woolerys! It was delicious and there is enough left over for us to be snacking on for days!
Mom's flight got rescheduled because of Southwest grounding 80 Planes due to a freak midair accident in Arizona this morning. Hopefully she will be in Houston at 8pm to see Henry and help out at the house. Here is a verse from a dad whose family has been through just as much stress, only twice for 2 of their 4 kids.
Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. BLESSED is the man whose quiver is full of them. Psalm 127:3-5
